They say there are only two important aspects to writing: 1) Read good books and 2) Practice.
I think that is good advice. But rather a bit light.
I'm constantly searching the web for advice from other writers. When this bores me, I look for famous couples where both participants were writers and find out how in 90% of the cases one or both writers went batshicrazy (head in oven, duels, and other acts of insanity). I assure you it's far more amusing.
So what do you do when you follow 1&2 with a religious regimine and yet, can't write? See, I'm not having this problem. I'm having a...how the hellbitch do you actually put everything together?

Tricia woke up at 7 next to a guy she picked up from an all night gin joint. She had a cup of coffee, leaving him in bed. She ran a load of laundry. She swept the hall. She then went out to the pharmacy for aspirin. She returned at ten and shook the stranger awake. He did not stir. After several moments she phoned the ambulance. She paced the corridors of the emergency wing of the hospital until she saw her best friend Gina arrive, obviously distraught over the heart attack of her husband.
