Today is the day that the former thirteen colonies declared independence from Britain in a document that would be forever confused with the much later adopted Constitution, the Declaration of Independence.
As someone who fell in love with the ideals America was founded upon over two hundred years ago I hope that one day the ideals stated in the Declaration of Indpendence, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are put into further practice.
